There is a large Carrefour supermarket a 6 minute drive away on the edge of Samoens which stocks everything you would need. There is also the Sherpa in town a short walk away which is a small supermarket stocking most items.
Tiffanie’s…great bakery for all your bread and cake needs, one in town and one by the Grand Massif Express lift.
There is a great wine shop in town called La Feuille De Vigne Savoyarde run by one of our neighbours Jean Paul, he has an English speaking colleague Jennifer and both are very knowledgeable. They also offer wine tasting in the comfort of your chalet.
Fromagerie’s… a few in town and one big one on the drive back from the lifts, well worth a visit.
Restaurants:
Brasserie Le Savoie, centre of the village… you can’t book but always busy with a nice selection of good food.
Le Frahan…just past the Intersport on the other side of the village, mix of local Savoyarde and pizzas/burgers, lovely atmosphere and food.
Le Sérac... Savoyarde but also the best pizzas in town…you will need to book early.
La Reposette…opposite the Vercland bubble if you’ve skied down, great beer and food with lovely “apres ski” atmosphere.
Alti Pizz... burgers and pizza
La Louisiane, all sorts, pizzas, Savoyard, steaks and fish.
Au Relais Septimontain… typical Savoyarde extensive menu and reasonably priced.
The Melting Spot… Cafe/bar with good Savoyarde fare.
This list isn’t complete, these are just a selection that we’ve discovered, there are also plenty of Apres ski/cycle/hiking bars scattered around town.
